Tyler's thinking Dentist?!

I thought after the long haul of Dental School my kids wouldn't even dream of repeating such a thing, but today Tyler got his first taste of Equine Dentistry and he was in love!
Dr Bowman is one of about a dozen nationwide that do specificly Equine Dentistry. Tyler bombarded he and his associate with questions. What a fun day!

Child vs Ice

Child verses Ice, Ice WON!

Lil Ty was getting off the bus and whamo right down on the ice and in a puddle.

I got home about 15 mintues after he did and this was the conversation:

Tyler hi, how was your....daaaa..y?

Fine

What happened to you? Your not wearing any pants.

(while watching tv and sitting on the kitchen counter) They are in the bathroom.

Why?

I fell in a puddle and slipped on the ice.

Really, did it bleed?

Did what bleed?

Your face.

What do you mean my face?

Tyler, you have a cut under your chin and I can see the fat hanging out from the hypodermis layer.

Hugh, what does that mean?

It means you'll need to find some more pants so we can vistit the ER, you need stitches!

Hmmm, sure, OK.

Yeah, kinda like that, what a reaction to stitches hugh? Ahhh, boys!

Tired of Cold?

I don't know if I'm tired of the snow quite yet, it's only February, but the COLD can definately go!

I was chatting with a girlfriend and she made the most profound discovery.
She said that it was negative 40 degrees last night, and that tomorrow its going to be 30 degrees. That's a 70 degree differance in 24 hours and we STILL won't be ABOVE freezing.

Yep, that's it... the cold just has to go! But the snow can stay for a while! :)

Winter Sugarloaf Schooling Show

The Noffze clan kicked some serious butt today at the winter Sugaloaf Schooling Show.
Each one of us got a first and a second in either Equitation or Hunter Jumper. WHEW! All our hard work and practicing paid off in great use of the aids. Oh and the horses had FUN too! We gave everybody extra carrots and apples tonight for a job well done! The human parts of the teams all went out for Chinese to celebrate in our breeches. Pretty exciting I tell ya!

Happy New Blizzard (oh, I mean Year)!

Fargo got hit with back to back blizzards and this is what I saw today as I went out to the stables. Many people were digging out, and many highways and roads were closed because of the ice and 20 foot snow drifts blocking traffic. Farther out of town it was the blowing snow that kept visibility to zero. Fun Fun Fun, 2011! Happy New Year Everyone!

Swiss trying to escape

This is good old Swiss from our stables. He sees any opportunity to be a comedian and he just can't resist. If his stall is unlocked he knows how to open it and raid the hay pile. Sneaky old guy let me tell you! He's the sweetest horse in the barn, the best greeter of humans and horses, but he has a devilish streak for getting into mischief if the opportunity presents itself. Christmas Tree DE-Light

Thought all of you might appreciate this...
I got out my huge pre-lit 3 year old Christmas Tree today to dress it all up for the season. Just about every other branch wouldn't light. I changed fuses, bulbs, cords and fiddled for hours on the internet trying to discover what ailed my poor tree... spotted fever?

Well, I came to the conclusion that some of the light strands had overheated and melted the wiring so I checked the warranty. No luck, it was out of date.

In order to save Christmas I went to plan-B....save the Tree....scrap the lights.

The De-Lighting commenced at about 4pm.

My two boys and one of their friends worked on the tree for 4 hours with me. They are saints!
I don't think I can touch it for a few days now...I'm still to mad at it for puking out on me! It's only 3!

In between changing heavy metal music, pizza bites, and clipping the lights off our tree
with a side cutter, Brandon had some hilarious commentary during the procedure:

"I hate pre-lit Christmas trees....mine don't work and now i have to rip all the lights off of it and they are KNOTTED INto the tree so.......BBBRRRUGH!"

"Never buy Christmas trees from countries that don't celebrate Christmas. (especially CHINA!)"

"I'm pretty sure this is child abuse. They are going to ask me if I'm EMO when i get to school, my arms look whacked!"

"Is this a communist plot to terrorize Americans via CHRISTMAS trees? Eventually the pre-lit tree trend HAS to go!"

"Finally done DE-lighting my retarded tree.....4 hours later!"

Yeah, he was a little hot under the collar by the time we were done, but all for a good cause. We get to have a tree!.. ( And I promised him $20 for he and his friend to spend on football cards tomorrow. I'm not THAT mean of a MOM!) Ha

My friend and her Famiy had to do the SAME THING today. She called it her "man-eating tree" when she looked down at her family's hands and they were all scratched and scraped to bits.

Now if this happens to you, you'll know what to do, wear gloves!

Happy Happy Thanksgiving

YUM! A holiday with Friends doesn't get any better than this!

NDEA 3 Days

We had so much fun over NDEA this year. The kids were out of school Friday and we took advantage of the time off by trecking through South Dakota. WOW, the fall colors were beautiful as were all the sights we saw! Sometime I'll get my pix together and post the art photos from our trip. Amazing, just amazing! If you haven't visited yet, plug it in for next year's October fun. The temps were great and comfortable, and the fog lifted by mid morning. COOL!

Interesting Signs From our Road Trip

Ok, let me understand this right, it's 10 dollars a person, but if you have less than six people it's free, but if you have a whole car load it's $27. What were they thinking? HA!
Like there aren't any large cattle? They don't really come in small and medium!
This was at Wall Drug. IF the hotel had anything OTHER than color TV I would be severely worried! BTW, this is NOT where we stayed. HA!
Yes, they have a posted a sign at the park entrance, but NOT near the prairie dogs. They actually have THE bubonic plague, BLACK DEATH, that killed everyone back in the 1300's. OUCH!
A wheelchair ramp connecting two platforms at CrazyHorse actually had a sign that said, NO WHEELCHAIRS. Things that make you go hmmm!
Ehhhhh, someone tell the sign maker that the viewpoint is covered by the dew point! U can't see nothing jack!
Who would make a tunnel of rock to DRIVE thru then put a sign that said FALLING ROCK right next to it. Makes you want to ZOOOM thru right? He He
